Apologies Mr Willis - I incorrectly presumed you where referring to West South Wales trials which is what my initial response referred too. As said earlier would love to ride hard sensible trials all day but just not sure we are in the majority. Hence why I go away to ride nationals and other centres trials. Look at the reputation Merthyr have had in he past when they set out tough trials - I loved em but a lot of boys wouldn't enter them because they where deemed too tough. So long as hard is not associated with daft or dangerous I have no problem with it - but as I am still a tight Yorkshire git, the more marks dropped per pound on entry fees seems like a bargain to me. Observing has always been down to the opinion of the person observing, be it did they stop, did they roll backwards, did they hop sideways when stationary etc etc. Riders have been getting away with the benefit of doubt under stop allowed rules so why should we demand that with no stop it must be black and white and super harsh. We are all just out for a days bit of fun so as I see it if riders and officials are sensible and consistent then we should all enjoy ourselves. If its an obvious stop then give them a five, if you need a video replay and a radar gun to prove a millisecond pause then suggest maybe you don't.

I haven't ridden many trials the last few years but i have to say i hate the no stop rules , you have a cracking ride in a section only to be given a 5 for a split second stop very frustrating , i can't see me doing many trials this year even though i have recently changed my bike for a 300 gas gas to ride more trials , hare and hounds and a bit more motocross for me i think .
